It is with a sad heart that I must write this message. When I got up this morning, I had no idea that I would be writing a message of comfort to you.
I am shocked, hurt, and scared for what is going on today in Collyville, Texas. This is another in what seems to be an unending series of attacks against Jews in all corners of the country.
Let us combine our prayers for the safety of our family in Collyville. I say family, because as Jews (and as people), we are all part of the same family, the family of humanity.
We pray for a peaceful resolution to this current situation.
May the Holy One, the One who blessed our ancestors during history, bless, protect and guard our brothers and sisters in Colleyville, Texas. We pray for their safety.
May the Holy One, whose name we bless everyday, bring them to safety. As we light our Havdallah candles, may that collective light bring these people from darkness into light. From harm to safety.
Oseh shalom bimromav. Hu ya’aseh shalom alyenu. Ve’al kol Yisrael. Ve’imru Amen.May the One who makes peace in the high heavens make peace for us, for all Israel, and all who inhabit the earth. Amen.
L’shalom,Cantor Gluck
